Book of Demons is a hack-and-slash title with deck-building elements that originally left Early Access on PC in 2018. Today developers Thing Trunk announced that it will head for the iPad on February 13th, where it is called Book of Demons: Tablet Edition.
If you’re unfamiliar with Book of Demons, it is a procedurally generated dungeon crawler that allows players to determine the length of a quest using a system called Flexiscope. This essentially means that if you have a little more time, you can make a shorter dungeon, and the developers say you get similar “game flow” as someone who creates an hour-long dungeon.
By “game flow” they mean that each dungeon still has the same ratio of combat, downtime, and bosses, rather than just being shorter. If you prefer to play games with a little more risk, there is also a roguelike mode for an extra challenge. It’s great to see that Thing Trunk offers so many different ways to meet different needs.
The overall goal for players is to save the Paperverse from a powerful arch demon. The reason it’s called Paperverse is because all environments look like they’re made up of paper. It looks like a living pop-up book, and characters even move up and down South Park style, which is a nice touch.
There are three different classes you can play in: warrior, villain, and mage. Instead of weapons, you can use a deck of cards instead. There are 40 cards in the game with legendary variants for specific classes. So it’s about choosing the right cards to defeat one of the 70 different monsters.
Book of Demons: The Tablet Edition will be available in the App Store from February 13th. You can also pre-order them now if you want. It will be a premium title that will cost $ 4.99 at launch but up to $ 9.99 shortly afterwards.

Monster Train is a strategic, villainous deck building game set on a train to Hell. This was recently announced by publisher Good Shepherd Entertainment and developer Shiny Shoe. In addition, the game will have a closed beta later this month.
“Hell is frozen over, and it is up to you to protect the last pyre from the forces of heaven and to burn hell again,” a press release said. “Monster Train adds an extra strategic element to rogue deckbuilders with three vertical squares that must be defended at the same time.”
The title offers over 200 maps, five clans and “several routes through hell”. Up to 8 players can compete against each other in a “unique time-based” online multiplayer mode.

Developer Ground Shatter and Publisher Mode 7 have just announced their new game, Fights in Tight Spaces, which will hit PC sometime in the third quarter of 2020. The game is already listed on Steam so anyone can wish it up, but it doesn’t have a price.
Fights in Tight Spaces is a mixture of deck building, turn-based tactics and animated fight sequences in classic action film settings. The game reminds me of John Wick: Hex and Superhot, but without the deck building aspect.
Apparently, in Fights in Tight Spaces, players definitely need to learn to balance their hand, swing, and positioning if they are to succeed and defeat their opponents. The game will feature over 150 cards that will be unlocked as players build the decks that suit their playstyle and that of their opponents.
The game allows players to use the environment against enemies as well as abilities and skills as they act as bodyguards for VIPs. Fights in Tight Spaces features random events, but there is also an online leaderboard that players can use to compare their results after completing the daily missions.
In Fights in Tight Spaces you play as a Section Eleven agent who has to find a direct solution to various dangerous scenarios. Most of these solutions involve bruising people’s faces and other body parts, hence the name of the game.
Section Eleven is an underground organization that prefers a more hands-on approach when it comes to criminal organizations that live and operate outside of electronic communications.
For this and a few other reasons, only contact Section Eleven when the rest of the intelligence community has failed. Fighting in tight spaces seems pretty interesting, but the bread and butter of the game seems to be the combat mechanics. The Bazaar is an upcoming digital strategy game in which players will engage in an intergalactic marketplace and battles to overcome each other in a competitive environment.
