Defense attorney Andrew Owens requested bail as Rixon’s circumstances had changed significantly.
Mr Owens cited the COVID-19 prison lockdown.
Mr Owens said Rixon has now been in prison for a month and faces 20 charges on which he would defend.
Sgt Voigt said that on one case, text messages indicated that some work was done but not completed.
In some cases, it is claimed that either no or minimal work was done.
Sgt Voigt said Rixon was bailed on a Commonwealth indictment alleging wrong company names that could reveal a pattern of misleading behavior.
Sgt Voigt said Rixon received bail from NSW in February 2018 to live in Kirribilli and to report to police in North Sydney on a daily basis.
He apparently left Sydney and came to Queensland, where the crimes were allegedly committed on bail.
Mr Owens said it was accepted that one case involved $ 20,000 in which Rixon was accused of accepting deposits but failing to get the job done.
“Maybe he got himself into this situation. Maybe he’s got terrible business acumen, ”he said.
Magistrate MacCallum said Rixon spent 25 days in jail for previously denied bail.
Ms. MacCallum said NSW had also filed a detention request to revoke Rixon’s bail there.
Ms. MacCallum said she needed time to review all material in court.
His bail motion was adjourned as a partial hearing and closed on January 20.
Rixon was taken into custody.
