LPD: Zaunbauer accused of pocketing nearly $ 6,000

A man was recently arrested for putting money in his pocket to build cinder block fences, according to Laredo police.

Pedro Toledo Yepez, 32, was charged Saturday with two thefts and one theft of property.

On April 23, officers responded to a theft report from the 6100 block on Monaguillo Lane.

A woman said she paid Toledo Yepez $ 5,800 to build an ash block fence around her property, LPD said. But he only partially completed the project, police said.

Toledo Yepez allegedly avoided the complainant’s calls. The last time she spoke to him, he said he would order the supplies for the fence, but he never did, LPD said.

Two more cases were reported in September. In one of them, a man told police that he had signed a contract with Toledo Yepez to build a cinder block wall in his apartment. He reportedly paid him $ 700 for the job, but Toledo Yepez didn’t return calls later, according to police.

In the second case, Toledo Yepez received about $ 3,000 but he never finished the job, LPD said.
