“I was stuck there and couldn’t get out when the fence collapsed on me. I had to call for help. Fortunately, two boys came running towards the fence and managed to get it from me. I am forever grateful to you. “
She added, “Apartments are being built on this site near the road.
“You are surrounded by a security fence. You have a makeshift path that people can go through. I was walking through the path when the security fence fell on me.
“Where the smaller fence is positioned, they put barrier blocks so the cars can stay inside while they drive on the main road, and here I almost ended up on the single line road. It’s a very busy street.
“The whole incident was terrifying and I am still deeply shaken and in pain from it all.”
She said she contacted both the contractor and the council after the accident and still needs to hear from both.
Council Chairman Thomas Glen said Monday: “The relevant officials have been made aware of the incident and are currently holding a preliminary meeting with site management to investigate the details of the incident and any action they have taken since it was reported to them. ”
A spokesman for McTaggart Builders said this week, “We are aware of the incident at our townhead project where our fence was blown on Saturday October 24th in high winds, as reported by Ms. Bryson.
“The incident was recorded on our CCTV website, which enabled our Health & Safety Manager to conduct an investigation in accordance with our company procedures.
“No injury was recorded in Ms. Bryson’s first report.
They added, “We have had no contact from East Dunbartonshire Council on the matter.”
