TO UPDATE: Cedar Rapids Police identified the murder victim as Davvion Flemings, 26. There is still an active investigation.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) – Cedar Rapids Police are investigating the death of a man found in a driveway with gunshot wounds several blocks east of Interstate 380.

Police said in a press release that officers were called to the area shortly after 9:30 p.m.

Thursday for a report of shots fired and people running out of a house where the shooting was reported.

Arriving officers found a 26-year-old man behind a parked vehicle in a driveway with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police, fire brigade and paramedics took care of the man in emergencies, but he died on the scene.

The police did not publish the man’s name. Detectives gathered evidence on the spot. No arrests had been reported by Friday morning.
