Superior holding power

Mantis clips have been extensively tested and offer superior lateral movement resistance and lift when compared to other hidden fasteners for grooved decks on the market. In independent laboratory tests, Mantis clips measured 391 foot pounds by the time they first moved. This is a 42.7% improvement in lateral resistance to movement when compared to other similar clip systems. This is important in all regions, but especially in regions with large daily temperature fluctuations. This additional holding force prevents decks from “running” and loosening.

Facilitated installation

Our revolutionary pneumatic installation tool Eliminator RCS has been proven to speed up the installation of fasteners by up to 80% compared to other traditional methods. This installation method still provides the same holding power as our standard hand drive screws. With the EZ-Slide attachment, Mantis clips can be installed quickly and easily in almost any environment. Simply drop the Mantis clip into the slider attachment, push forward to snap the Mantis tab into the groove, and pull the trigger. We even added a rare earth magnet to our slide to keep our steel coated clips in place so they don’t fall out and cost the installer even more time. No longer do you have to try and attach a small clip to the nosepiece of a tool, tilt it to fit into the groove, and then pull it sideways out of the clip to loosen the tool. This is a thing of the past thanks to our Eliminator RCS. Just drop the clip – push forward – pull the trigger and you are done with the Eliminator RCS Mantis installation tool.

The Mantis clip is specially designed to fit securely into the grooved profile of many composite deck boards. Even if you use traditional hand drive mounts to install Mantis, you can preload the clip into the groove without worrying about them falling to the floor as the screws are driven.

Precision fit

Almost all of the other hidden deck clips on the market are made to “generically” fit most grooved deck boards. These clips use a screw to hold a clip to the board. Over time and with the natural expansion and contraction of the deck boards, the screws and clips will loosen because the “generic” clips will not fit perfectly. Doing so can compromise the safety, strength, and structural integrity of your deck. Mantis clips are specially made to fit exactly into the groove in the cover board and to achieve an optimal fit and holding force.
