Games like Superhot and John Wick: Hex popularized a niche genre – bullet-time shooters. Fights in Tight Spaces offers a similar gameplay, but with a certain twist. This is a turn-based deck builder focused on tactical combat.
The game has been available on consoles via Xbox Game Preview since last November and will eventually be released on Xbox One and an optimized version for Xbox Series X / S. As for the PC, we’ve just heard that Fights in Tight Spaces will enter Early Access on February 24th. Aside from Steam, players can pick this up from the Epic Games Store and GOG. So that’s another good thing.
First and foremost, Fights in Tight Spaces is a tactical deck building game with turn-based fights and animated combat sequences. The catch is learning how to balance the cards in your hand for swing and positioning. Otherwise the game will appear unfair.
Developers announced that their game will include more than 150 cards that will allow players to build the deck that better suits their play style. Aside from your deck, you can use the environment against your opponents, so that’s another variable to consider.
Fighting in tight spaces takes place at a time when espionage is mostly done by analysts. You play as an agent for Section Eleven, an organization that takes a more hands-on approach to espionage.
You are dealing with criminal organizations that live and operate outside of electronic communications and your job is to find direct solutions to emerging threats by beating things up.
As the game progresses, you can improve your character’s movements and add a number of improvements to their utilization. Each mission has one main objective, but there are several ways to achieve it, depending on the skills and abilities that are available to you. Close quarters combat can now be wishlisted on Steam, but a demo of the first mission is also available for free.
