CAMO’s latest desk clasp, the EDGEXMETAL Clip, is designed to attach grooved deck boards directly to metal substructures. The one-pass fasteners use the same technology as the EDGEX clips for wooden frames, with the screw being the key difference. The EDGEXMETAL uses a drill bit that clicks into place in less than two seconds, while the EDGEX uses a self-tapping screw.
“Our CAMO innovation team addresses many of the issues deck builders face,” said W. Scott Baker, CEO of National Nail. “EDGEXMETAL clips are a direct response to slow, expensive hidden fasteners for decks on metal frames, as well as rising wood prices. The clips are also released at a time when contractors are looking for steel and metal frame options given the current shortage of pressure treated wood. “
The EDGEXMETAL clips are compatible with deckboards from top manufacturers including Fortress Evolution and Trex Elevations on 14-18GA metal frames. They are available in 90 and 450 meter buckets and contain T15 driver bits and the Never-Miss Guide.
For installation, CAMO recommends laying down rows of boards and clips, locking them with bending and locking tools from CAMO LEVER and then fixing them while standing with a CAMO DRIVE tool plus drill. The clips can also be assembled by hand with a drill. camofasteners.com
