SALISBURY – State and local officials announced Tuesday that Eastern Wholesale Fence has selected Rowan County as the location for its new manufacturing and distribution facility.
Headquartered in Medford, New York, the fencing company will create 142 new jobs over four years and invest $ 17.5 million in equipment and improvements to its new facility in Mid-South Industrial Park at 7401 Statesville Blvd.

Eastern Fence was founded in 1971 and offers a full range of wooden fence and wire mesh products. Ornamental products made of aluminum and steel, welded net, guide rail and post and rail. It started when Maassen looked around her own Pinterest and Instagram accounts and saw that teachers were making chalk art themselves. It inspired her to order chalk herself.
“I grew up with art, I just hadn’t done anything with it in a while, so I decided it was time to come back to it,” she said.
