KANSAS CITY, MO. Portions of Buck O’Neil Bridge will be closed this weekend to allow the Missouri Department of Transportation to perform bridge decking, MoDOT said Tuesday.
All southbound lanes will be closed between the Richards Road exit and 5th Street from 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 11 through 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 14.
Crews will also close a northbound lane between 5th Street and the south end of the bridge from Friday, October 11th, 7:00 p.m. through Saturday, October 12th, 7:00 p.m.
MoDOT said traffic going south would be diverted onto Route 9 via the Heart of America Bridge and then back to Broadway Boulevard.
According to MoDOT, all traffic can still access the airport in downtown Charles B. Wheeler.
According to MoDOT, more than 40,000 vehicles drive over the 60-year-old bridge every day.
