It started when Maassen looked around her own Pinterest and Instagram accounts and saw that teachers were making chalk art themselves. It inspired her to order chalk herself.
“I grew up with art, I just hadn’t done anything with it in a while, so I decided it was time to come back to it,” she said.
With her influence as a four-year-old, the first drawings were inspired by Londyn’s tastes in popular children’s books. Then she could have fun by dressing up after completing the drawing and becoming part of the chalk scene.

As a party-based deck builder, a fur-covered group of animals tries to find their way through the dangerous town of Dawn’s Point. Clearly big fans of Brian Jacques’ Redwall novels, these mammal warriors have taken up arms and wielded spears, axes and shields as they thrust their way through the shady medieval town. The bad news is that the rival faction they are invading territory is just as well armed. When you fight for the Blackfoots, your job is to assemble a party of up to six bears, rabbits, gophers, and more as you craft an evolving deck and try to defeat the ruling faction of House Ender. In addition to fighting, Banners of Ruin promises a number of encounters that, depending on the player’s choice, can produce both positive and negative results. Check out the trailer below:
Developed by Montebearo and Goblinz Studio, Banners of Ruin promises roguelite mechanics that you can use to unlock new cards and passive buffs that will improve your chances in future runs. The setup encourages repeated runs to unlock new content. It sounds a lot like Slay The Spire, but party-based combat should give the formula a new twist, as many cards rely on the smart placement of creatures in your party.
Each type you choose for your group has its own deck. This means that the combinations of animals on your team can change the play style of your group significantly. The game also comes to life with beautiful hand-drawn art that adds plenty of character to the creatures in and against your roster.
