Henry Wagner was a kind, generous businessman who owned several properties in Commerce City and an assisted living center in Aurora.

“He was always busy. He was a businessman, a very caring person. He always helped other people, financially and otherwise. He always gave a lot. He was just a funny, hardworking man, ”said his widow Cassandra Wagner.

“The grace of God got me this far, but it was difficult. I look at his picture, sometimes I really cry. I miss him, ”she said for the past four years.

She said he always pissed her off because she saw crime novels or when they passed a crime scene.

“He always said ‘you want to find out, don’t you?'” She said.

There is no crime story Cassandra would love to solve more than who killed her husband.

“He went out a little after nine that night to check some lights in the driveway. The garage door went up. As soon as he went outside, someone shot him, ”she said.

Detectives have very little to do.

“During the investigation, we found that the suspect most likely fled southwest through the Wagner courtyard and down 6th Avenue,” said Detective Dan Andrews in a video produced by the Denver Police Department.

Cassandra said she had no idea why anyone would want to hurt her husband. She believes someone knows something and she prays that someone will come forward.

Denver police asked for information in December

“It was difficult, but you have to choose to move forward. At the same time, I want to stand up for him as much as possible. I feel it is my responsibility to stand up for him. My prayer would be to the person or anyone who knows about this case, that they would have the courage to speak up, that they care to say something, ”she said.

“It is important that this hurt a lot of people. Even if they think it’s a minute that makes no difference, starting to piece the puzzle together can be a big chunk. That would be my hope, someone would just say something. ”

“Nobody deserves to die like this, nobody deserves it. That’s the biggest thing, we can’t bring him back, but having justice would be a very big deal for me and his family, “she continued.
